Just a reminder that Exit Art, one of New York's longest-running and continuously adventurous alternative enterprises, is shutting its doors after Saturday. That means you have a bit less than three full days to visit the Hell's Kitchen space, which will soon become the new home of the Sean Kelly Gallery.

Exit Art closes its final exhibition, "Every Exit is an Entrance," that Saturday with a two-hour series of performances titled "La Ultima Noche Que Pase Contigo / The Last Night I Spent With You," from 9 to 11 p.m. Among the performers is Papa Colo, who started Exit Art with his late wife Jeanette Ingberman back in 1982, will perform a piece called "Sweeping Memories," which Exit Art says will involve "a ritual cleansing of Exit Art's space that acts as a metaphor for Exit Art's closing and Colo’s retirement as Artistic Director."

The answer to that headline is: yes, probably.

A quick poll of 25 randomly selected galleries with current exhibitions revealed only a few planned to close this weekend. There is no rest for the city's gallerists!
