Photographs by the director Stanley Kubrick, back when he was a camera jockey for the magazine Look in 1945, are now available for sale online, with most of the proceeds going to the Museum of the City of New York.

Most of the photographs seem to have been taken in New York and the composition and definition are really pretty impressive by anyone's standards. The subject matter is slice-of-life (a boxer between rounds, kids buying hot dogs, Dwight Eisenhower waving to someone) and it's all very Life magazine, apart from the guy with ridiculously distended nipples.

For sale at VandM.com. This story comes to us from Pursuitist.
