Former Nadine Johnson PR guy Amani Olu said in an e-mail yesterday that he has split with his business partner Elizabeth Denny, with whom he had intended to start a gallery named Denny Olu later this year. We first learned of Mr. Olu's departure from Nadine Johnson, and his gallery plans, last week.

"Denny and I split on great terms, and we both wished each other well," Mr. Olu said in an e-mail. "I am not sure of her plans, but I still plan to open my gallery, OLU, this fall on the Lower East Side."

While he's hunting for real estate, Mr. Olu, who curates and organizes shows under the name "mr. and mrs. amani olu," has three shows coming up this summer: Syracuse University's MFA thesis exhibition at the Dumbo Arts Center, a solo presentation by artist Ellen Jong at Allegra LaViola and "Young Curators, New Ideas IV" at Meulensteen Gallery.

Before she left to start her own gallery late last year, Ms. Denny worked at Hasted Kraeutler. She was not available to comment for this post.
