No, You Can’t Sleep at the Judd Foundation’s Loft

The listing.

Yesterday, a prankster listed Donald Judd’s loft at 101 Spring Street on Airbnb, the website that allows users to rent their pieds-à-terre to tourists when they go out of town. This came as a surprise to some, since the Judd Foundation will soon reopen the space as a museum dedicated to the artist and his legacy.

Curbed seemed to buy it. Artinfo said they “suspect[ed]” it was a joke, in the third graff. Nope, total joke! ” I actually think someone at the Judd Foundation could have a heart attack if they see it,” said an outside spokeswoman for the foundation.

The apartment (supposedly $2,000/a night) is listed as having none of the usual Airbnb amenities like WiFi, heating or “Family/Kid Friendly,” though it does say that those staying overnight would be allowed to smoke. “Tyler,” the user who listed the space, did not respond to a request for comment.
