Yes! The February edition of Artforum has arrived. And it is a beauty. Catherine Wood considers the multifarious work of Ei Arakawa, David Velasco files a “1000 Words” piece with Art Club 2000 members Daniel McDonald and Patterson Beckwith and Mira Schor considers the legacies of Robert Hughes and Hilton Kramer. We are here now to celebrate the issue’s ads, though. They are particularly strong this month! Take a look in the slide show to the left.

  • Back Forward Adam Mars at Gusford

    Adam Mars at Gusford

    As a grumpy Twitter hold-out, let’s just say I appreciate this ad’s sentiment. —M.H.M.

  • Back Forward Nayland Blake at Matthew Marks

    Nayland Blake at Matthew Marks

What went wrong I guess is the dyslexic spelling error in this ad, but I suspect all the hope and innocence in that smile didn’t fare so well either, as is often the case with, you know, being alive for long enough. —M.H.M.

  • Back Forward Indochine

I'm not sure I actually do like this one. —D.D.

  • Back Forward Llyn Foulkes at the Hammer

    Llyn Foulkes at the Hammer

Did you see Llyn Foulkes at Documenta? This piece blends his paintings with his outsized personality. Great stuff. —D.D.

  • Back Forward Ragnar Kjartansson at Luhring Augustine

I'd like to think this is how everyone spends their time in Iceland. —D.D.

  • Back Forward Brice Marden at Gagosian

    Brice Marden at Gagosian

    1. Brice Marden was a very cool, handsome young man.
    2. I really want to see 'Red, Yellow, Blue' in color, so I guess I will have to see the show in person. Smart advertising. —A.R.

  • Back Forward Alan Uglow at David Zwirner

    Alan Uglow at David Zwirner

Now I can't even see the painting! And it's in black and white! Have to go see this one in person also. —A.R.

  • Back Forward Dan Flavin and Donald Judd at David Zwirner

Dan Flavin and Donald Judd at David Zwirner

Truly a fantastic image. Conjures both a buddy cop movie and that moment in the first Star Wars movie when Luke steps outside to gaze at the twin suns of Tatooine with a sense of adventure. A burst of emotion from a photo of two Minimalists! —D.D.

  • Back Aura Rosenberg at Martos Gallery

That's how you sell a show! (In all seriousness, really looking forward to this one.) —A.R.
