Here’s a First Look at Jesper Just’s Danish Pavilion for the Venice Biennale

The Danish Pavilion at the 2013 Venice Biennale will feature a multi-channel film by the artist Jesper Just. The project will consist of five films played simultaneously on a loop that examine "architectural pastiche and cultural dislocation," particularly that of Paris, according to a release from the Danish Arts Council.

In a statement, Mr. Just said, "When you start digging into the history and narratives specific to a given location, you begin to see how it informs your perception of the space--how you view it, think about it, and act towards it. I'm very interested in the idea that a place can perform, just like people and characters perform."

In addition to the films, there will also be a "communications system" that will allow people who can't make it to Venice experience the pavilion. Take a look at some stills from the film here.
