The New York Post has a profile today of Hermes Knauer, the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s master armorer, ahead of its upcoming exhibition “Of Arms and Men,” which opens Wednesday.
Mr. Knauer started as a stock boy at the museum 40 years ago. From the story:
“‘We have to protect the integrity of the object. It’s not about us. It’s about the artist who made it so long ago,’ Knauer said.”
A must-read story, for stabbing enthusiasts.
