Those on the lookout for something to do in Miami Beach on Friday evening with a charitable flavor, take note: in place of its standard Miami Basel party, MoMA PS1 is hosting a benefit for the Rockaway Waterfront Alliance, which is supporting relief efforts in that Sandy–battered section of New York.

The benefit goes from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m., and will feature DJ time from Avey Tare and Deakin of Animal Collective and Dave 1 of Chromeo. A film by Matthew Akers will screen at 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $100, and VIP tickets are going for $1,000, which “grants you immediate entrance upon arrival and a cabana (upon availability),” according to a rep for the museum.

Tickets are available online until 6 p.m. on Friday, and as MoMA PS1’s director, Klaus Biesenbach (who has been a very vocal advocate for the Rockaways since the storm) pointed out in an e-mail to press, you need not be in Miami to make a donation to the cause. “It Is more about on the occasion of Miami Art Basel, asking people to contribute and not just sell and buy,” he wrote in the letter.

Details about tickets are available here.
