    Panel Discussion: “War, Trauma and Public Art” at NYU Kimmel Center
    A panel featuring Ani Buk, Carl Cannon, Rosayln Deutsche, Joseph LeDoux and Kirk Savage, moderated by Carol Becker, will discuss Krzysztof Wodiczko’s Abramah Lincoln: War Veteran Projection, on view in Union Square Park through Dec. 9. Sounds more fun than Lincoln! —Michael H. Miller

    As part of its exhibition “Come Close: Art Around the Bowery 1969–1989,” the New Museum will screen Amos Poe’s Alphabet City (1984), a film set on the Lower East Side in the final moments before gentrification swept through the neighborhood. Vincent Spano stars as a young Italian-American gangster on the make. —A.R.
