Gabriel Orozco, whose exhibition "Asterisms" is on view at the Guggenehim until Jan. 13, will discuss his work at the museum with Harvard University's Benjamin Buchloh.

Opening: Emily Weiskopf, "The Curve of Binding Energy," at John Molloy Gallery 
Named for John McPhee's book on the nuclear age, this show promises to introduce the up-and-comer Weiskopf, of the American Laboratory collective, to a whole new audience on the Upper East Side. Might this lead to some kind of a meltdown on the part of the audience? Possibly! Should you be there? Definitely! —D.D.

Panel: "Surreal Machines" at SculptureCenter
Columbia art historian Noam Elcott and artists Anicka Yi and Camille Henrot will discuss "the impact of technology in the historical avant-garde and contemporary parallels," according to SculptureCenter's news release. Curator Ruba Katrib, who's featured both artists in her wonderful show "A Disagreeable Object" (which closes Nov. 26!), will moderate. Could there be any better way to celebrate the crossing of the middle of the traditional work week? —Andrew Russeth

Exhibition: "Tokyo 1955–1970: A New Avant-Garde" at MoMA
This is perhaps the most hotly anticipated MoMA show of the fall, and brings together work by dozens of artists who forged the contemporary art scene in Japan after World War II. The names of many of the participants are completely unfamiliar to this writer, which is thrilling and terrifying. (Also, go see the gorgeous new show that Trisha Donnelly organized while you're there.)  —A.R.

Album Release: Jim Jarmusch and Jozef Van Wissem Album Release at MoMA PS1
