Grey Area, the art-meets-design commerce site, has partnered this holiday season with Helmut Lang, which will feature Grey Area goodies in its boutiques along with an installation by artist Shelter Serra called Engine Blocks. The collaboration—or exhibition, if you like!—runs from Nov. 1 to Jan. 17. This news broke today at WWD.
Mr. Serra is the nephew of Richard Serra and is known for his silicon sculptures cast from everyday objects. For this show he’s cast, naturally, engine blocks to make 17 sculptures for Helmut Lang’s stores, which are on sale through Grey Area for between $4,000 and $6,000.
Grey Area was founded by Manish Vora of Artlog, and Kyle De Woody, daughter of Beth De Woody, and has hosted a party with the Observer Media Group.
