TUESDAY, AUGUST 14

Screening: “Vision Quest Screening,” presented by Nicole Klagsbrun at Anthology Film Archives
If you missed “Vision Quest,” the group show at Nicole Klagsbrun inspired by the work of Los Angeles-based artist, occultist and actress Cameron Parsons, don’t miss this screening. Presenting a smattering of work related to the exhibition, this screening includes Curtis Harrington’s visual portrait of Ms. Parsons, The Wormwood Star, Kenneth Anger’s Inauguration of the Pleasure Dome, featuring Ms. Parsons, as well as works by Chris Kraus, Amy Granat, Dmitri Hertz and more. —Rozalia Jovanovic
Anthology Film Archives, 32 Second Avenue, New York, 7-9 p.m.

Performance: Peter Edwards, “Nova Drone” at the Clocktower Gallery
As part of his residency at the Clocktower Gallery, American artist and musician Peter Edwards will be presenting an interactive soundscape. He will be performing on 10 “NovaDrones” or, what we’re told are “mini-synthesizers” or experimental musical kits that emit a drone that distorts and wavers in frequency in reaction to light, sound and movement throughout the space in homage to the oscillations people experience while traversing the chaotic landscape of New York. and get there before 7 p.m. as there’s no admittance after. —R.J.
The Clocktower Gallery, 108 Leonard Street, New York, 6-8 p.m. No admittance after 7 p.m. RSVP to events[at]artonair.org

Screening: Point Blank at MoMA
The Museum of Modern Art, as part of their "Gaumont Thrillers" exhibition, is screening the 2010 French thriller, Point Blank, about—in the broadest of terms—an innocent man dragged into a hostile situation. —Michael H. Miller
Museum of Modern Art, 11 West 53rd Street, New York, 4:30 p.m. For museum members only. Reserve tickets at www.showclix.com/event/3648983/members-only

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 15

Opening: "All Night Bookstore" at Peanut Underground
A number of talented folks, including Observer contributor Anthony Haden-Guest have contributed to this show, which was curated by Katie Peyton and also has contributions from Carla Gannis, Catherine Lewis, Christopher Borkowski, Duke9+Dutchess, Gregory de la Haba, Jazz-minh Moore, Lee Wells, Lindsey Nobel, Marjan Mogghadan, Michael Ricardo Andreev, Paul Garrin, Saskia Hahn, Savannah Spirit, Stewart Home and Tamas Banavich. —M.H.M.
Peanut Underground, 215 East 5th Street, New York, 6-8 p.m.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 16

Opening: Adam Green "Houseface" at The Hole
Adam Green, that's right Adam Green of The Moldy Peaches, shows his paintings at The Hole. Attendee performances of his solo song "Jessica Simpson" are not forbidden, nor are they encouraged. —Dan Duray.
The Hole, 312 Bowery, New York, 7 -9 p.m.

Performance: MoMA Nights with Ulrich Ziegler
Stephen Ulrich and Itamar Ziegler play the Sculpture Garden. Ulrich formerly of Big Lazy, Ziegler formerly of Pink Noise now of Balkan Beat Box. This is their first time playing together and the event promises to be "at once noir and otherworldly, the elegantly gritty ensemble plays evocative, cinematic music that conjures images of everything from seedy backrooms to stark landscapes" according to the press release. —D.D.
MoMA, 11 West 53rd Street, New York, 5:30-8 p.m.

Screening: "Members-Only: Warhol Rarities" at Anthology Film Archives
As a special treat open only to its members, Anthology will screen Andy Warhol's films Camp (1965) and The Closet (1966), which are rarely shown. The former features performances by the likes of Paul Swan and Jack Smith. Might be a good time to become a member of the stalwart theater!—Andrew Russeth
Anthology Film Archives, 32 Second Avenue, New York, 7:30 p.m., Anthology members only
