The New York Times reports that Britain has placed a ban on the export of a painting by Picasso, Child With a Dove until it has time to raise funds to keep it in the country.

The Times reports that the U.K. government argues the painting "has become too important to Britain’s national heritage to allow it to be sold and to leave the country," since it was first loaned to the national gallery.
