In conjunction its Mark di Suvero exhibition on Governors Island, the Storm King Art Center has teamed up with the Socrates Sculpture Park to offer creative guided tours in August that will bring visitors in intimate proximity to 11 of his massive sculptures that are peppered throughout the island.

On Sunday, Aug. 12, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., artist Rob Swainston leads "Pedal Social Practice" an easy, waterfront bike ride around Governors Island replete with "Stop and Look" moments—to check out buildings and landmarks, as well as "SeeSlows"—leisurely and contemplative drawing sessions to take in these buildings and landmarks at your own pace. This ride will be complemented by a discussion on how public art and community building projects have shaped Governors Island. And if you want to get an earlier start, you can join Mr. Swainston at 10 a.m. at Socrates Sculpture Park for a bike ride to Governors Island.

Saturday, Aug. 18, Jory Rabinovitz will lead "Sculpture Dérive." Brought to popular attention by French philosopher Guy Debord, the dérive is a spontaneous jaunt through an urban landscape in which travelers are guided by subtle transformations in architecture and geography, the study of which is known as psychogeography. To enhance this authentic experience, Ms. Rabinovitz will create "sculptural footwear" for your journey around the island.

On Sunday, Aug. 19, Lan Tuazon leads a guided tour titled "The Rules of Seduction in 11 Sculptures." The tour will take you around Mr. di Suvero's work on Governors Island, exploring the formal structures of each and relating them to the 11 rules of the "pick-up game" as a frame for presenting the art of seduction.
