The art collector and philanthropist Agnes Gund took to The Huffington Post yesterday to decry plans to destroy Green Acres, a terraced landscape sculpture by Athena Tacha, outside the Department of Environmental Protection Agency in Trenton, New Jersey.

If the public paid to place the sculpture, Ms. Gund argues, the public should decide whether or not it should go away. She cites the recent decision by the city of Indianapolis not to build a public statue by Fred Wilson depicting a freed slave, saying she disagreed with that decision, but was glad that it was made by the public. According to her, there has been no public debate over Green Acres.
