Mr. Deitch. (Courtesy PMC)

Kelly Crow, the Wall Street Journal's art reporter, just sent out a tweet that says:

"I'm told @MOCAlosangeles canceled its disco show yesterday. Will Deitch be next? I'm listening."

She's referring to Fire in the Disco, the planned show about the history of disco at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, curated by LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy, which Jeffrey Deitch, the museum's director, told us a few weeks back was “quite far along in development.”

This detail comes just after MOCA's former chief executive officer released a letter urging Mr. Deitch to resign his post.

We are reaching out to the museum to confirm the cancellation of the disco show and will update accordingly.

Update, 4:21 p.m.: Blouin Artinfo's Julia Halperin spoke to a museum representative who told her the show has not been canceled and is still in development. Ms. Crow has not yet updated her Twitter. As of this writing, we still have no word from MOCA.

Update, 4:42 p.m.: And now we've just received a similar statement from a MOCA spokesperson: "Fire in the Disco is and will continue to be in development, as previously indicated by the museum."
