The Brooklyn-based Liars released their sixth album WIXIW last month and commissioned the artist Ian Cheng to make an excellent video for their second single, “Brats.”

Mr. Cheng is a director at Paul Chan’s imprint Badlands Unlimited, which has recently published some excellent iPad e-books that distort pervasive technology in a way similar to the style of the video.

For its theme, well, let’s go with this very astute Youtube comment: “this is exactly like that time I dropped bath salts and watched looney toons.”
