Screening: Films by Fred Halsted at Eastern Bloc
As the queer film series Dirty Looks: On Location nears the end of its monthlong run, it offers a series of films made by or featuring Fred Halsted, the director behind the 1972 work L.A. Plays Itself, “gay porn’s first masterpiece,” according to the organizers. Also screening are Sex Garage and A Night at Halsted’s, among other films. —Andrew Russeth

Opening: Les Rogers “Summer Swells” at Half Gallery
Bill Powers met Les Rogers when he commissioned the artist to do an edition for his Exihibition A website. Night Tour: Spencer Finch, “Full Moon Tour of Lunar (2011)” at Storm King
Before the first installation of this work in July 2011, at its first site in Chicago, Mr. Finch used a “colorimeter” to gauge and replicate the precise color of the full moon over Chicago. Now situated in Storm King in the “Light and Landscape” exhibition, each day, as the light outside slowly fades, Lunar soaks up the sun’s energy and uses it to power itself into a glow of the exact color as that first full moon. As Finch said, “every night it’s a full moon.” If you’ve never been to Storm King, this just might be the ticket. —Rozalia Jovanovic

Collection Tour: Art in General’s “Cocktails in the Hamptons” in Bridgehampton
