T: The New York Times Style Magazine reports that the Karma bookstore, one of our favorites, now has a summer installation up that would seem to be a parody of stores catering to the Williamsburg yuppie demographic. All manner of plates, candles and bronzer are now on offer at the West Village boutique.

Though the Times piece insists that the offering is straightforward, well, have a look at the site. There are driftwood buoy keychains, sure, but also “framed artwork” that seems to have been torn from a lifestyle magazine ($75). Also available are hand-dyed summer beach towels for $85 and a garden, consisting of one potted plant, available for $100.

“There’s been a lot of talk about the concept,” [Karma owner Brendan] Dugan says, citing art cultural references like the pop-up shop Claes Oldenburg opened on East Second Street in 1961 or Rob Pruitt’s traveling flea market.

The shop opens tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
