The wonderfully grimy Lower East Side bar White Slab Palace, a kind of art world hub and site of the short-lived exhibition space the Slab, will be replaced this weekend by a new restaurant called the Gray Lady, Bowery Boogie reports.
White Slab Palace closed in 2011 after being “harassed by the 7th Precinct for months and months on end,” at least according to a note left by its owners when the business shuttered last October.
The new restaurant is a New England raw bar, which Eater says will have “all seafood privately sourced from Maine.”
Ah, New York. Don’t get too comfortable with anything, people!
