Staff members at the Williamsburg gallery Momenta Art are on the lookout for a thief who recently made off with a five-inch-by-seven-inch work by artist Adam Simon that read, "Steal this art."

The Brooklyn Paper has the story and notes that Abbie Hoffman was pretty cool with people actually stealing his book. Not so here.

“I’m thinking of giving Momenta another one, but it would be better if the culprit just gave it back,” said Simon.

The painting was valued at $300.
