The Elizabeth Sackler Center for Feminist Art First Awards were held Wednesday night. The Sackler Center presented the awards to 15 women who are “First in their Fields.” The awards ceremony was timed with the fifth anniversary of the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art.

After the enormous attention the announcement of Ms. Anderson's Playboy cover received online, the book signing by this model-turned-gallery-assistant-director was somewhat tame. However, the line still did extend out the door and friends and fellow models were in attendance.
New video art commissioned by MoMA PS1 and Creative Time as part of the "Art Breaks" initiative were on view at ACME on Thursday night. The videos included works by newly commissioned artists--Rashaad Newsome, Michalene Thomas, Mads Lynnerup, Tala Madani and Jani Ruscica--as well as some of the original "Art Breaks" videos by Richard Prince and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

At the launch for MTV's "Art Breaks," an endeavor by MoMA PS1 and Creative Time to bring back the short art videos that once aired during commercial breaks on MTV, artist Rashaad Newsome, one of the five newly commissioned artists dazzled us with his new video, projected on the exposed-brick walls of ACME, the East Village restaurant. We also loved his Western/bling shirt.
