High-flying art advisers Thea Westreich and Ethan Wagner typically move gracefully through art fair openings, chatting with clients and dealers and then quickly moving on. However, at the Independent last night, they were up against the wall, not moving, arms spread. A photographer was snapping their picture.

They were sporting black shirts bedecked with colored rectangles, and 28 blocks of color were arrayed on the wall behind them--the complete contents of a new limited-edition book (we're using that word rather loosely here) conceived by the British artist Ryan Gander, who sat nearby in a white chair.

The photographs were being uploaded to a Twitter account called @Trending_NYC--the name of Mr. Gander's book is I'm Trending and is published by Ms. Westreich and Mr. Wagner in partnership with Paris-based Three Star Books. Each volume in the book is a monochromatic resin cast of a damaged piece of plywood in one of seven different colors. This was the book party!

As the couple posed, smiling for the camera, people strolled over up and began snapping photos of their own. For a few moments, it was really quite a photo session. "More!" Mr. Wagner called out jovially as the flashes burst.
