Michael Rosenfeld Gallery is leaving its space at 24 West 57th Street and decamping for Chelsea, reports Art in America.

The new gallery is 6,500 square feet and will be on the ground floor of the Jean Nouvel-designed condo building at 100 11th Avenue, at West 19th Street, which is quite an elite block. It also houses the Kitchen and David Zwirner Gallery.

Michael Rosenfeld specializes in 20th century American art and represents the estates of artists like John Biggers and Charles Seliger. The gallery opened in 1989 in the New York Gallery Building on West 57th Street.

Mr. Rosenfeld told Art in America, “The art world has really transplanted itself to Chelsea.”

Well, sure!

Incidentally, all of the condos at 100 11th Avenue have sold out.
