Courtesy of In the Air, here is a truly wonderful video of Philip Glass addressing Occupy Wall Street protestors at Lincoln Center. Lou Reed also makes an appearance.
Mr. Glass makes quite a profound statement:
When righteousness/withers away/and evil/rules the land/we come into being/age after age/and take visible shape/and move/a man among men/for the protection of good/thrusting back evil/setting virtue on her seat again.
He repeats the statement three times and the audience chants along with him.
Lou Reed was a little, uh, less poetic. (Still love ya Lou!)
“The police are our army,” he chants. “I wanna to be friends with them.”
