On Friday the Pavilion of Art and Design makes its New York debut at the Park Avenue Armory, and we’re very excited. A Paris mainstay of 15 years, the fair came to London in 2007 to rave reviews and now has finally graced our fair city with its presence. It’s going to be well worth a look.

There are already a lot of fairs on the calendar, but dealers are giving this one a shot because of its stellar track record in London recently. New York gallery Paul Kasmin does Frieze in London but director Nick Olney has been keeping an eye on PAD, and is doing the fair in New York. “We have a number of friends and colleagues who show in the fair in London and it’s always been well put together and beautiful, with a diversity of dealers you don’t see at other fairs,” said Mr. Olney. “We’ve been impressed with it and it’s something we want to support in its first year in New York.” The gallery is premiering a new garden love seat by Mattia Bonetti, and is also bringing pieces by David Hockney, Ivan Navarro, Frank Stella and Robert Indiana.

And that’s just a sampling from one gallery. Check out the slide show to the left for an expanded photo preview.
